Have a story from your Oakwood years? Share it!

We are looking for anecdotal Oakwood history...if you've got a story from your own Oakwood years, post it under the blog below! Please be sure to include your name and years associated with Oakwood. For instance, if you attended Oakwood in the seventies, sign your post "Jane Doe, Oakwood student 1977-1983."

Thank you! Enjoy!

Dig out your old yearbooks!

We are looking for memorabilia from years past. Have any spirit wear? Newsletters? Photos? Yearbooks? The committee is looking for items to include in our Decade Displays for the Community Open House and All-school Reunion.

All donated items will be tagged and taken very good care of, and everything will be returned!

Please send a note to: oakwood50@comcast.net
or post a message for Christen Christopherson here on this network site!

Can't wait!

I was soooo happy to receive this email from my friend, Tammy (McCanna) Sisk. It made my day!
I have so many great memories of Oakwood, from all the excellent teachers, stern hallway "duties", and who can forget, Camp Isabella!
I really hope as many people as possible can attend this event.

Playground memories

One of my most lasting memories of Oakwood is the playground. When I was there (1973-1977, I think) the playground was made of huge tires - big stacks of farm tractor tires with poles up the middle of them to slide down. The tires smelled...like tires and were great breeding grounds for mosquitoes when it rained. But they were great for hiding in, and if you hid long enough you might miss the whistle of the "duty" (playground monitor) telling you recess was over.
