- Greetings! I had eight wonderful years as the media specialist at Oakwood from 1989 to 1997. I remember watching the fall of the Berlin Wall in the media center on the TV! It was that same year that the libraries switched to electronic check-out from the old method of signing your name on a card in the back of the book. The internet and computer labs also came of age while I was at Oakwood, and it was the beginning of the school tv show, "Eagle Eye News." Exciting times! I loved the staff, the wonderful parents, and most of all, the great students. I'm looking forward to Nov. 16.
