Christen (Vannelli) Christopherson Playground memories

One of my most lasting memories of Oakwood is the playground. When I was there (1973-1977, I think) the playground was made of huge tires - big stacks of farm tractor tires with poles up the middle of them to slide down. The tires smelled...like tires and were great breeding grounds for mosquitoes when it rained. But they were great for hiding in, and if you hid long enough you might miss the whistle of the "duty" (playground monitor) telling you recess was over. Continue
